Pilgrim’s

NAMI Safety Awards

The North American Meat Institute (NAMI) recognizes production facilities for outstanding performance in team member health and safety. Awards levels are as follows, starting with the highest recognition: Honor, Merit, Commendation and Certificate of Recognition. Awards are earned based on an evaluation of the actual safety performance, as well as the implementation of an effective safety and health program. Of the 1,500 points available, 900 – or 60 percent – may be earned based on the outcome of a statistical analysis of the facility’s injury and illness data performed by the National Safety Council staff. The analysis includes an evaluation of both the TRIR and DART rate. The remaining points are earned based on the implementation of key components of an effective safety and health program as measured by the NAMI safety program questionnaire. The following Pilgrim’s facilities were awarded 2019 NAMI Safety Awards based on 2018 performance.
